Parker is a turd of old. I remember having an arguement with a girl film student eight years ago where she was deifying Parker because he came and talked to her class for two hours. In itself laudable, like many small acts, but the overall picture is that Parker is a major doo-doo. He doesn't just want to be perceived as American (all his work is pure kino-yank, he lives there more than here, his new 'novel' is American..); he wants to have been BORN American.

Just think, if he'd died after Bugsy Malone we'd still like him.
