Do you not have access to it through Athens or similar?

No - it costs fuck loads (to use the technical description) and we don't have an Arts faculty nor yet an English department. We do however have modern languages, which is why we have the cheaper Oxford Reference Online which includes the Shorter Oxford and multilingual dictionaries but not the full OED.

Athens is only an authentication system - you still have to subscribe separately to everything that uses the Athens system to validate which members of UK HE can use their data.

Oops, showing my ignorance there, the online subscriptions people talk about Athens in a way that made me think it allowed all of the UK universities to get access.
