So, we're sitting here watching Losers in SadsvilleWonderland: Virtual Adultery and Cyberspace Love, and to distract us from the OMGWTFBBQCARCRASH!!?! nature of it all, we've started getting distracted by the incidental music.

nmg: Oooh, I know that tune!

ias: Yes, it's from a film. I know it, but I can't remember what it's called.

nmg: *hums* "We have all the time in the world"?

ias: It's the version used in a Bond film, not sure which one.

nmg: And I recognise this too - it's John Barry, and I think it's from another Bond

ias: Yes?

nmg: It's from You Only Live Twice, Mr Bond

ias: Well, this is about Second Life...

nmg: *groans*

'We have all the time in the world' is the closing song from 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service', according to [livejournal.com profile] clanwilliam, who would know this sort of thing.

Indeed. It follows on from the last lines, as spoken by Bond (cue IMDB, and mild pang of "where's my transclusion, damnit?"):

It's all right. It's quite all right, really. She's having a rest. We'll be going on soon. There's no hurry, you see. We have all the time in the world.

Hurrah for the cultural archive (and nest of copyright infringement) which is YouTube!

OMG SPOILER

Notable, of course, in that this is probably the henchperson who has arguably done the most harm to Bond, and yet also one who apparently survives. Although I half-expect a QI "obvious answer" alarm to sound when I say that.

(Hmm. That bullet hole is at completely the wrong angle.)

I'm impressed with her mastery of Bond trivia - how's her ankle bearing up?

It's much much better, thanks.

And yes, I have a pretty good knowledge of Bond - both the books and the films. Although I haven't got around to watching all of Casino Royale yet.

I was reared on Bond. Apparently Sean Connery - and specifically Goldfinger - is the perfect viewing for a house of five girls, their mother and their golfer father.

Can't imagine why.

Glad to hear it. And no, I can't think why a predominantly female house would be interested in Connery...

Aww. That sounds like an interesting programme - I know many people who spend more time in online worlds than in this one.

Which probably says more about me and my choice of friends than anything else. Nevertheless, I miss the BBC. Their iPlayer won't work outside of the UK.

There's always Something Awful's Second Life Safari.

Which is about as brain-safe as one may expect anything on Something Awful to be. I suspect the Beeb didn't show—sorry, demonstrate—the crudely-modelled—quote—"bondage playground"—unquote.

I mean, people, at least learn to align your textures. Sheesh.

There was also some Bernard Hermann, but I couldn't work out if it was from Fahrenheit 451 or Vertigo.
