Wireless and wired
Jun. 28th, 2004 02:35 pmJust ordered one of these, which will hopefully work better with the iPod than the nasty tape-cassette-on-a-wire that we're using in the car at the moment. Also means that we'll be able to broadcast Radio Free Gark throughout Gark Towers when it comes to our party at the end of next month (fill out the poll to let us know if you can make it or not). I feel an inexplicable need to talk like a pirate now. Ah-harrrr (etc).
Forgot to mention in earlier post - the excellent patisserie in Oxford was Maison Blanc at the south end of Woodstock Road, and also sells Michel Cluizel Noir Infini (99% cocoa solids). Good stuff.

I'm amazed by how cheap they are...

Date: 2004-06-28 07:49 am (UTC)The other problem with them,at lesat locally, is there are so many radio stations in and around Boston that if you drive for a while you have to keep retuning them.

Date: 2004-06-29 03:32 pm (UTC)Works pretty well, though I plan on re-engineering the radio (to give it a headphone jack, replace the fixed, straight antenna with a section of the headphones shield, and make it pendant-style rather than sticking out from my ear)
This would be a lot less necessarily if only they'd get round to making affordable stereo bluetooth headsets, but I've been dreaming of that for several years.
Haven't actually got the transmitter paired with the car stereo yet though, my god london's airwaves are busy when you start tuning manually rather than looking for RDS, so didn't manage to hunt it down in the short time I tried (and at 15ukp, my one doesn't display its frequency)
